According to the University of Regina, the Marieval residential faculty operated from 1899 to 1997 within the Qu’Appelle Valley. Marieval was run by the Roman Catholic Church until it handed over administration to the federal authorities in 1968. With lots of more unmarked graves found on the grounds of a former residential college in Saskatchewan, survivors of the system are once once more speaking out about their experiences.
